Ron Rash

Ron Rash is a poet, short story writer, novelist, and essayist. Rash is the Parris Distinguished Professor in Appalachian Cultural Studies at Western Carolina University. Rash is the author of Serena.

Among Rash's other themes, his penetrating insights into Appalachian culture have won him critical acclaim, notably the O. Henry award in 2006 and placing placing amongthe finalists for the Pen/Faulkner Award in 2009. More on Rash's work can be found here.
